In the third quarter of 2024, the Maps and Navigation category on the Android platform in France showcased intriguing trends among the top five applications. According to Sensor Tower's data, these apps exhibited varying performances in terms of downloads, active users, and revenue.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a significant uptick in weekly downloads during mid-August, peaking at approximately 73K. This boost was reflected in its weekly active users, which increased steadily from around 1.75M at the start of July to over 1.88M by mid-August, before experiencing a gradual decline to 1.6M towards the end of September.

The Île-de-France Mobilités app experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, beginning the quarter with 19K and reaching a high of 31K by the end of September. Active user numbers mirrored this trend, starting at 148K and climbing to approximately 173K by the quarter's close.

Bolt: Request a Ride maintained a relatively stable download rate throughout the quarter, with a slight increase observed in September, reaching around 21K. The app's active users also showed a consistent pattern, beginning with 71K and ending at approximately 74K.

Uber - Request a ride experienced a modest increase in weekly downloads, starting at 20K in early July and ending at 19K by late September. Active users saw a decline early in the quarter from 547K to around 433K in August, but recovered to approximately 499K by the end of September.

Finally, the Paris 2024 Public Transport app showed a significant spike in downloads in mid-July, recording 54K. However, downloads dropped sharply afterwards, with only 88 recorded in the final week of September. Active users followed a similar trend, peaking at 117K in late July before declining to 34K by the end of the quarter.
